Abstract submission
Present your latest study and research data at the DGP Congress 2025 in Leipzig! The congress is the opportunity to present your scientific results to the pulmonary community in Germany.
Please submit your contributions by September 29, 2024, 11:59 p.m.
There will be no extension of the deadline.
Accepted abstracts will be included in the congress program as posters, ePosters or free papers and published in a special issue of Pneumologie (impact factor 1,2).
Submissions will be accepted in either German or English.

Respiratory clinical care:
- Asthma, allergology and immunology
- COPD
- Interstitial lung diseases (ILD) and rare pulmonary diseases
- Palliative care
Oncology, endoscopy, pulmonary intervention:
- Thoracic oncology
- Endoscopy
- Thoracic surgery
Intensive care, respiratory failure and sleep medicine:
- Intensive care medicine and acute respiratory failure
- Chronic respiratory failure and home mechanical ventilation
- Sleep-disordered breathing
- Respiratory therapy and allied respiratory professionals
Basic and translational lung research, infectiology and environmental noxins:
- Infectiology and tuberculosis
- Basic and translational lung research
- Occupational health, environment and aerosols, epidemiology and populations health
Pathophysiology and functional disorders:
- Cardiorespiratory interaction and pulmonary hypertension
- Lung function testing and pathophysiology
- Tobacco prevention and health care
- Pulmonary rehabilitation
The best abstracts will be selected by an independent jury for the abstract prizes worth up to 1,500 euros.

Submission requirements
- Please be sure to use the template "Abstracts_Template.docx" provided when submitting. There is no fixed structure.
- Maximum number of characters per abstract: 2,000 characters excluding spaces.
The title and authors of the abstract are requested separately, i.e. they should not be part of the actual abstract. If repeated in the abstract, the title and authors of the abstract are counted accordingly.
Graphics and tables are permitted and will be counted.
- Please pay attention to spelling and grammar, abstracts are not proofread before publication in the abstract volume.
The abstract texts must not be submitted exclusively in capital letters. This also applies to headings.
- The abstract can be submitted in German (preferred) or in English.
- Each abstract must be assigned to a scientific category.
The categories correspond to the new scientific sections of the DGP, please assign the abstract accordingly.
- Choose the type of presentation you prefer: poster or free lecture.
The decision on acceptance and assignment as a poster for the poster walk or as a free lecture is the responsibility of the speakers of the respective scientific section and the program committee at the DGP.
- Conflicts of interest must be disclosed when submitting and later also when uploading the lecture or on the poster.
- Encore abstracts are permitted.
- The abstracts will be published in the supplement of the journal “Pneumologie” published by Thieme Verlag (online and print) and on the abstract stick for the congress.
- Abstracts for marketing purposes or company presentations are not permitted. Scientific papers or studies are not affected by this.
- Accepted abstracts from industrial companies may only be presented by scientific authors named in the submission. Presentations by company employees are not permitted.
- By submitting, the authors assume responsibility for the accuracy of the data submitted. The responsibility for clarifying any third-party copyrights regarding the contents of the abstract lies with the authors.
You will receive a confirmation if the data has been received correctly. You will be notified of acceptance or rejection in December 2024. Please note that all notifications of acceptance/rejection will be sent exclusively to the submitter's email address stored in the system.
The poster format for presentations at the congress is A0 portrait (84.1 cm wide x 118.9 cm high). Poster viewings will take place on the designated poster areas. You can obtain fastening material from the poster service at the respective areas.
